This Privacy Policy explains how AuthorDesk HQ handles information when you create an account or use the service.
1. Information We Collect
We may collect account information such as your name, username, email address, password hash, subscription status, selected plan, billing status, and email verification status.
You may also add author business content such as pen names, manuscripts, notes, references, publishing plans, marketing records, contacts, calendar items, and finance information.
2. How We Use Information
We use information to create and manage your account, provide app features, maintain subscriptions and trials, verify email addresses, support billing through Stripe, improve the service, troubleshoot issues, and protect the platform.
3. Manuscripts and Author Content
You own the content you upload or create in AuthorDesk HQ. We use that content only to provide the features you choose to use, such as writing, editing, file organization, publishing workflows, and business tracking.
4. AI Providers and External APIs
AuthorDesk HQ is built for user-provided AI and API access. If you connect external providers such as local LLM tools, OpenRouter, OpenAI, email providers, Stripe, or future integrations, information may be processed by those providers according to their own terms and privacy policies.
5. Billing Data
Payments and subscription management are handled by Stripe. AuthorDesk HQ stores billing status and related identifiers needed to keep your plan current, but Stripe handles sensitive payment card information.
6. Email
We may use your email address for verification, account notices, billing-related notices, and important service updates. Production email delivery may use providers such as SendGrid or Postmark.
7. Data Storage
AuthorDesk HQ currently uses local structured storage and SQLite during prelaunch development. Production hosting, backup, and retention practices may evolve as the service moves toward launch.
8. Data Sharing
We do not sell your personal information. We may share limited information with service providers when needed to operate AuthorDesk HQ, process payments, send email, provide integrations, comply with law, or protect the service.
9. Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational safeguards, including password hashing. No system is completely secure, so you should use a strong password and protect your account credentials.
10. Your Choices
You may update account information, choose what content to add, avoid connecting optional third-party services, and request account or data changes through the contact method provided by AuthorDesk HQ.
11. Children’s Privacy
AuthorDesk HQ is intended for adults and is not directed to children under 13. Do not create an account if you are not old enough to use the service under applicable law.
12. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy as AuthorDesk HQ develops. Material changes will be reflected by updating the date above or by providing notice in the app.
13. Contact
Questions about this Privacy Policy can be sent through the contact method provided by AuthorDesk HQ.
